The best light in my humble opinion is in the thin space between the dark of the night and the dawn. Sunsets can be beautifuol but there is a special magic to getting up in the dark and watching the morning light gently overcome the darkness of night.
This image was taken at Loughcrew, Co Meath. Loughcrew has a series of ancient passage tombs, built by the ancestors over 5,000 years ago. The Cairn here is in alignment with the Equinox of Spring and Autumn. The morning sunlight enters the passage tomb via its own portal, journeys down the passage and lights up the inner chamber.
There is some powerful megalithic art inside the cavern and I believe it is no coincidence that this hilltop is also a site for magic mushrooms that show up every Autumn. One could argue that this site was chosen by the ancestors as an important reminder to climb this hill in the Autumn, take the mushroooms and connect with the Universe.
